Manuel will save you a little bit of gas, but not much. Automatic means you don't have to think about shifting. Personally I would go automatic unless you want a real sporty car, then go Manuel, just because that's how it should be.

Ahh cmon it has to be manuel all the way.
I like it more, keeps me more busy on the road and its a bit less boring, and I just enjoy the sound the engin makes

It's personal preference really. I like Automatic because I can do more things instead of just driving.

I like automatic, it nice and easy as how car should be and I used to it when I was living in the US. No one in England drive automatic tho, sadly. They like to complicate thing over here.

Agree that its a matter of personal preference.
I don't mind driving either, but over all, I enjoy manuel over automatic.
Our manuel car broke down a few month back ( a 1996 dodge colt I beleive), I mean completly, beyond repairs, and that what I use to drive.
Ever since we got our new car, I always drive with my left hand on the wheel and my right hand on the stick ( to put in P/R/N/D/3/2/1) simply because I'm so use to driving in standart >_<.
and Din't you know, al europeans are crazy
So are we Canuks

About 90% of the cars in the Netherlands (Europe) have manual transmission. I've never driven a automatic, but as has been said before it gives you something to do while driving, especially with sporty cars (wish i had one though :S)

I'm still doing 9-5 thingy, but I missed being a freelancer so much. Oh well at least I don't have to work at the weekend. Plus I'm going to a music festival next month, so that's somehting to look forward to.
